WE SANDEEPANI SADHANALAYA WOULD LIKE TO BRING FORTH SOME GENUINE REASONS TO DECLARE PALAKKAD DISTRICT AS SPIRITUAL DISTRICT
The cultural and traditional and spiritual importance relates with Holy River BHARATHAPUZHA which indicates with its name itself that entire 'Bharatham' should know the spiritual district is being nourished by her.
The district of Palakkad is known for its cultural tradition. The father of Malayalam literature, Thunchathu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, had spent his last days here in Chittur in the remembrance of this; there is Thunchathu Acharya Vidhalaya here. A popular Malayalam poet, Kunjan Nambiar and the founder of Thullal, an authentic art form of Kerala, both were from Killikurissimangalam (Lakkidi), a small village in Palakkad district. Several old temples are home to beautiful sculptures and paintings.
Another specialty of palakkad is 108 Agrharams with Vedic tradition of Brahmins is still maintained and four vedasalas for teaching Rigvedam, Yajurvedam, Samavedam, which are taught in the traditional methodology without any fees and the students are provided with free food, books and accommodations.
We can be proud to announce that there are 39 ashrams to propagate sanatha dharma and vedic tradition, and the ashrams are functioning relentlessly to contribute for the spiritual renaissance. Great acharya’s like Tapovan Maharaj, Swami Mrudananda, Swami Niranjananda the direct disciple of Sriramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Sivananda Paramahamsa founder of Siddhasramam and many other social and political reformers took birth and enriched the culture of palakkad.
For all yagas and yagnas in kerala the somalatha is being procured from kollegode temple. Palakkad (the other name Palghat is a contribution of the British Raj) is prime among Keralas most picturesque districts, thanks to its distinctive palmyra trees and extensive green paddy fields. Palakkad has probably the biggest mountain pass in the world (30-40 Kms) separating the two folds of the Western Ghats on the border of Kerala with Tamil Nadu. Palakkad is rightfully therefore known as the Gateway of Kerala, giving the rest of India access to the State. For precisely the same reasons, Palakkad had to bear the brunt of invasions from the bordering kingdoms in the past. It’s therefore no wonder that this place is a melting pot of different cultures and ethnic denominations enriching its life, art, tradition & culture. . Many other noted exponents of varied art forms like Chakkiar Koothu, Kathakali, Thullal etc... Which are intrinsically Kerala art forms, found encouragement and inspiration at Palakkad. Most noted of all perhaps is the exponent of Carnatic Music late Sri Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagawathar, the legendary guru of ganagandharvan KJ Yesudas. Likewise Palakkad Mani Iyer was known the world over for his mastery over the mridangam, the drum so central to Carnatic music.
Palakkad is also a place of temple festivals. The temples that dot the landscape have carved their own niche in the art & culture of this region. Palakkad lies near the Palghat Gap, a pass or natural depression through the Western Ghats ranges that run parallel to the west coast of India, and connects Kerala to the plains of the state of Tamil Nadu to the east. The Silent Valley National Park that abruptly rises to the Nilgiris is an everlasting marvel to the tourists. The abundant forest wealth, dams, wild life sanctuaries, rivers, rare birds and animals historical monuments, traditional ayurvedic treatment centres have given Palakkad an exquisite and outstanding touch.
Sandeepani sadhanalaya aims to provide a platform for the vedic students to study scientifically, logically and rationally the heritage of our motherland. Study the customs and rituals, the scientific spirituality, the content of ancient literature and the science and technology, existed in this last for the last many thousand years. Understand the messages of Vedas. Conditions in the present century had degenerated to such an extent that an average Hindu was highly superstitious and ignorant of the concepts of the Vedas and their lofty thoughts and was caught up in meaningless rituals to a pantheon of gods without even appreciating the significance and the efficacy of the same. The lofty pedestals of the Sanatana Dharma were being unhinged and in danger of collapse. The time was ripe for renaissance activities and the divine force emanating from the Sanatana Dharma, through the efforts of sandeepany sadhanalaya... HI-TECH VEDAPADASALA is the realization of programmed for the above need of the time.
